Poem page six
Affirmation
I believe
In a life where love is born and is seen to grow.
I believe my own lines that tell of a dawn
That gives a love-light glow.
I believe in the myths I have made -
With the muse I have created worlds
Where all deep dreams come true.
I believe in two draped as one
On some golden shore.
Gazing to a future rich with charm
I believe these hopes are shared.
I believe in games that lovers play
Of tease and of delight.
I believe in moves that lovers make,
In sidways glance and hugs.
I believe that two may be forever close,
Secured by a fingers touch.
I believe in all I write, each promise that I make.
In love that once declared is known for all eternity.
I believe in a romance of candle-light and flowers,
In chocolate and champagne,
I believe in all that can be found in warmth and summer rain.
I believe these truths,
These dreams, mysteriously fleeting.
All this is my delight,
But the loss is duel and desperation.
A Duel of Delight and Desperation
