Lovers Prayer for St. Valentines Day

Muse, Goddess Muse rose
Hear me now, I pray
Work my words in some new way
Form for me some flowing prose
Showing all I know within
Sincerely to her heart
Three much used words are all I find
See, these are not enough
For a love profound and absolute
Much more than sweet amour.

Muse spin for me a web of words
Woven to woo my lady love.
Write for me of wishes
From within a lovers heart.
Muse, paint for me a picture,
A landscape that tells of love and of longing
Paint with my hand, a land where dreams come true
A place she my wander with all delight
And seeing these she may find me
Within her womans heart.

Goddess without name, nine in one
Fulfill the longing of my lifetimes
Of all my years and of today
Forever I say for her heart
And forever in my heart too.
Goddess, forever in dreams we met, we two
And deepest dreams were written
Now, nightly and by day
I fight a duel of delight and desperation
Never in sleep did I search and seek an unfound friend
Now all is with-held within
No poems, no pictures
No heart-led hand
Guides pen or brush
Makes magic with the Muse.

Goddess, I need now a masterpeice
The crown of all creation portrayed
Goddess, craft for a goddess
The peak of perfection from mine own hand
No less than this will serve, but still I know
Together our best reveals not one tenth part
Of this unseen love.
Still, I reject all suffering
I`m done with deep despair
And pain I know too well.
I need a bird song in written word
The sight of stars, of swans
The whites of gulls in flight
To delight her.
I need my hearts deepest dream
Told true in pen or paint
And three words are all to me.
....
Suddenly, a second
A moment of madness, free from words
My understanding is complete
In silence, silence is explained
My woman-goddess has dethroned you, Muse
Worshippped within me completely
She fills my days and my nights
Her presence is my greatest joy
Beyond all gifts you bring
Yet she sees not the love I endlessly express
She`s deaf to all my praise.

In silence I have seen myself
Filled with love profound and absolute
Beyond all acts, beyond all arts
Beyond means to reveal
Beyond three words I find
But these three words, sincerely scribed
Being all I have
I write for her.
I love you,
Woman-goddess,
I love you.

A Duel of Delight and Desperation
