Poem page nineteen
Waiting
You see her every day, then in a moment,
You truly see.
Now she is beauty.
At the sound of her voice this spell is cast.
In a glance you are captured,
And held for all eternity.
You watch and hope,
Bewitched by a mona-lisa smile,
Laced with hidden meaning.
Every moment lingers,
Each smile, each moment shared,
Endlessly recalled.
You wonder about her-
What love lies within that smile?
You imagine this is hidden
Does she see?
This intensity is neon-
All around you must also see.
But even as you fall you know it can never be.
It is pain this love, It is fear and trepidation.
It is fear and longing, This falling for her.
Yet it is joy to see such beauty,
And feel such a wonderment.
You long to touch her but you cannot.
Wait, fool, wait.
You`re waiting for a sign, a clue.
But for now this love must torture you.
A Duel of Delight and Desperation
